Cooking Up Health
Medical students in the kitchen
Cooking Up Health (CUH) is a culinary medicine course I co-founded in 2016 that teaches medical students and trainees about nutrition and health along with the artistry of cooking. With our community partner Common Threads, learners apply what they learn by teaching kids in Chicago public schools. CUH has been studied, published, and adapted by other institutions through a train-the-trainer model.
If you are building something similar, the published curriculum work is a reasonable place to start. Check out the documentary made by the Take Care campaign that follows a medical school and a grade school student as they both learn about the power of food to transform health.
